Flying Caravan at Lord Mayors’ Show

11.2007

As part of The Caravan Clubs’ Centenary celebrations The Club took part in the ‘Lord Mayors’ Show procession through the City of London on Saturday 10th November 2007.

The Clubs float took the form of a giant inflatable caravan and motorhome together with an inflatable rural landscape, all of which were flown through the streets of the City of London held in position by over 50 volunteer members of The Club.

This project used a wide range of Mulberrys’ services and supports our claim to be a genuine ‘Full Service’ agency.

We conceived the concept, designed and commissioned the building of these ambitious inflatable floats as well as liaising with the Show organisers to ensure that this unusual approach could be accommodated in the procession and organising the procession on the day.

In addition we kitted out the 50 plus volunteers in matching trousers, polo shirts, weather- proof jackets and baseball caps all in The Clubs’ colours, branded with the special Centenary logo, and all in every possible combination of sizes.

The float was a resounding success and was featured in much of the TV coverage of the event, rounding off a year of high profile activities organised for The Club by Mulberry Advertising, that included a Garden Party at Buckingham Palace, The Caravan of the Future design competition and a Gala Dinner at the Dorchester with a raffle for a brand new caravan, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
