Micromark - Sense-It Home Security System
Background
Micromark, one of the country’s leading manufacturers of electrical products wanted to launch a range of wireless home security products and asked Mulberry to design the packaging for the range.
It was a complicated brief which required Mulberry to visually explain a wireless security system called ‘Sense-it’. The system wirelessly senses a potential intruder and can be designed to activate a number of different appliances available inside and outside the home, from floodlights to televisions, table lights and radios giving the impression that the premises are occupied.
The difficulty was that system contained a range of products which were sold individually but could not function without the ‘Sense-it’ sensor. There were three starter kits which featured the sensor and another product but the idea was to build a system using the additional products. The customer had the choice of additional sensors and appliances but did not require a sensor for each product as it was not necessary.
The brief to Mulberry regarding the packaging for each product was to emphasise the ‘Sense-it’ system, the actual product being sold (with features) and the features of the sensor (available separately).
Solution
The design of the packaging was developed to clearly communicate the consumer benefit and how it works, provide powerful impact at POS and tie the whole range together as modern high tech security solution.
Initial “sell-in” of the range has been very strong and we are monitoring through put and repeat sales.
